asked the Minister for the Public Service the special pay awards agreed to in the public service sector over the past six months; the categories of workers to which these awards have been made; the amount of the awards in each case; and the reasons on which the granting of the awards were based.

The question has been taken to cover the period since 1 January 1982. The public service sector has been taken to comprise those groups covered by the heading of Public Service Remuneration in Table 3 of the Pre-Budget Tables 1982, viz. the Civil Service, Defence Forces, Garda Síochána, Teachers and all staff in the Health Services.

The information requested is as follows:
