It is my intention to co-ordinate all local office activity of my Department in County Laois in a single unit in Portlaoise. The Office of Public Works is arranging to provide a new office building there, which will include accommodation for my Department's local services.
Pending completion of the new building, I propose to locate an office in other premises in Portlaoise, on a temporary basis, to deal with the operation of the animal health and livestock headage schemes in the county. These premises are at present undergoing some structural alterations. The office will be opened there as soon as this work is completed.
