Vol. 338 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Tallaght (Dublin) Community Health and Welfare Centre.

83.

asked the Minister for Health if he will arrange for a community health and welfare centre to be located in the new town of Tallaght, County Dublin, which is now a major urban centre of population, having regard to the fact that the servicing of Tallaght from the Crumlin centre causes considerable inconvenience and unnecessary problems for the population of the area.

Tallaght is situated in Community Care Area No. 4 whose headquarters are at Old County Road, Crumlin.

A comprehensive range of health and welfare services is provided at the major new health centre at Millbrook. Some services are provided once weekly in Killinardin and Fettercairn. Therefore, it is normally not necessary to visit the Crumlin Centre.

It is proposed to provide new health centres at Fortunestown and Castletymon which will further improve the position in due course.
