asked the Minister for the Environment if it is proposed to establish a national training centre for the fire services; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 232 and 233 together.
While the central training programme for the fire service continues and is being advanced as quickly as possible, the stage has not yet been reached where firm decisions can be made as regards implementation of the enabling provisions of the Fire Services Act, 1981, in so far as they relate to a national training centre.
