The amendment of the draft building regulations is nearing completion and it is proposed to publish a revised draft in the near future. However, before the regulations can be brought into force, it will be necessary to enact amending legislation. This legislation will be introduced as soon as possible.

Will the Minister state if he has had consultation with the various interests involved?
Yes, there has been extensive consultation with all the interested bodies on the revision of the draft building regulations. I am happy that all the interested parties will be satisfied with the way in which certain sections that were causing concern have been clarified.
