Vol. 340 No. 7

Written Answers. - Tax Concession.

416.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will have full tax concessions granted to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford who has a loan from the ACC and who pays the loan repayments himself in full even though the loan is in joint names.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that relief was allowed by the Inspector of Taxes in this case on one-half of the statutory relief due on the amount of interest shown by the ACC as having accrued on a loan made jointly to the taxpayer and another person. The inspector wrote to the taxpayer on 15 February 1983 requesting copies of the relevant loan agreements to enable the position to be further considered.
