This applicant received grant aid under the western drainage scheme in March 1982. A second application was received on 23 November 1981.
Applications under the western drainage scheme are being processed strictly in order of receipt. Present indications are that sufficient applications were received up to 30 September 1981 to absorb the 150,000 hectares approved by the EEC which meets 50 per cent of the cost of scheme. It was decided early last year to defer the processing of applications received after that date to enable the situation to be reviewed.
