The commencement of work on stage 2 of the Santry by-pass, from Coolock Lane to Cloghran, is primarily a matter for Dublin County council as road authority. It will depend mainly on the rate of progress by the local authority in the preparation of detailed design and contract documents for the work and in the appointment of a contractor to undertake the scheme. The land necessary for the scheme is already the subject of a confirmed compulsory purchase order.
