I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the appropriate inheritance tax returns have not yet been lodged with them for assessment. The Inland Revenue affidavit to lead to probate of the deceased's will was certified on 27 January 1983 having been lodged for processing on 18 January 1983. The claims for inheritance tax were notified to the successor, the executors and the solicitors acting in the estate on 8 February 1983.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will ensure that a tax problem is corrected as soon as possible for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.
I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes is not in a position to determine whether an amended certificate of tax-free allowances should be issued in this case until he receives from the taxpayer a completed return of income form. The form in question was issued for completion on 13 April 1982 but has not been returned. A reminder has been sent to the taxpayer.
