: All the information sought is not readily available. Its collection would involve disproportionate cost and time. The following information will, I hope, be of assistance to the Deputy:

(a) 2,374 agreements were terminated in 1980, 3,155 in 1981 and 3,965 in 1982; (b) information not available; quite an amount of revenue due when agreements are terminated is subsequently collected; (c) and (d) about 5,000 cases were brought to Court where the amount was £250 or more in the period 1977 to 1982. Virtually all of the cases were successful; (e) the total amount of telephone revenue not collected at end 1982 amounted to about £25 million. Most of this has either been collected in the meantime or will be collected. The total amount of telephone revenue written off in the period 1973 to 1982 amounted to £1.456 million.
