asked the Minister for Finance when a tax-free allowance certificate will be issued and the resulting rebate paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

: I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that during the current year, 1982-83, the taxpayer had two contemporaneous employments with the same employer. One of the employments, which was of a seasonal nature, ceased on 15 January 1983. The inspector of taxes is writing to the taxpayer requesting the submission of a form P.45 (cessation certificate) to enable any tax which had been over-deducted in respect of that employment to be refunded.

A certificate of tax-free allowances in respect of his continuing employment was issued to the employer on 11 March 1983. It is understood that the total tax, £48.79, deducted from the earnings from that employment will be refunded to the taxpayer at the end of this month.

602.

asked the Minister for Finance if a tax refund will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford who has been unemployed for part of 1982-1983.

: I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that from the information supplied they are unable to trace the taxpayer in their records. If the name of the tax office which deals with the affairs of the taxpayer and the correct serial number are supplied the matter will be further examined.
