: The property in question, which has been inspected for forestry purposes, does not, because of its locations, constitute a very attractive offer being situated some five miles from the nearest existing State forest. For that reason negotiations with the owner have had to be deferred. The question of payment does not therefore arise at this stage.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Kerry will be paid the sum of £40,000 in respect of land purchased from him by the Forestry Division of his Department; and the reason for the long delay in this case in view of the fact that the lands were sold on 9 August 1981.
: Since my reply to the Deputy's previous question on 26 January last a dispute arose regarding one of the conditions of sale in the October 1982 agreement. However I understand that this problem has now been resolved and it is expected that the sale will be closed and the purchase money (which, incidentally, is somewhat less than the amount mentioned in the question) paid within about a month.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny will be paid for nine acres of land which was purchased by his Department.
: The arrangements made by my Department for the purchase of this land (comprising two separate parcels) and some other adjacent properties constituted an inter-dependent transaction. However, as title difficulties have arisen in relation to the latter mentioned properties, efforts are being made to conclude independently a purchase of at least part of the land in question and payment will be made as soon as the matter is completed.
