: The question of the re-establishment of local school transport liaison committees in connection with transport to post-primary schools is being considered in my Department and exploratory discussions have been held between officers of my Department and representatives of the post primary schools' authorities, of the transport liaison officers and of the relevant teacher unions. The functions of such transport liaison committees would relate to problems arising in connection with the local organisation of school transport arrangements.
