Vol. 342 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

607.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have an inspection carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Carlow with a view to having a house improvement grant paid.

An inspection has been carried out in this case and grants in respect of the building of a bathroom and the provision of water and sewerage facilities will be approved on receipt of evidence of planning permission. The applicant was requested to submit the documentation on 26 April 1983.

608.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement scheme grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

A house improvement grant under the old scheme will be paid on receipt of evidence of planning permission for the works undertaken, which was requested from the applicant by my Department in May 1980 and April 1982. Grants in respect of water and sewerage facilities cannot be paid as, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme under the Housing Regulations 1980, as amended, the works were not completed by 30 June 1981.

609.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have a final inspection carried out with a view to paying a £1,000 new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the work has been completed and the information requested submitted to his Department; and if he will arrange to have approval issued for a mortgage subsidy.

The file has been referred to my Department's inspector for investigation and report with a view to approval of a grant and mortgage subsidy. The grant will be paid when the house is satisfactorily completed and occupied by the applicant.

610.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in having a final inspection carried out for a £1,000 new house grant for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the inspection has been requested for quite some time.

There has been no undue delay in dealing with this case. An inspection by appointment will be carried out as soon as possible.

611.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a fuel conversion grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a solid fuel grant from the person named. House improvement and sewerage grants were, however, paid in this case in 1981.
