asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in carrying out a new house inspection for a person (details supplied) in County Laois.

Arrangements have now been made for an early inspection in this case with a view to payment of the grant.

The inspection was held up by an industrial relations problem relating to a vacancy in the inspectorate staff which came within the scope of current restrictions on the filling of vacant posts.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the long delay in carrying out a house improvement grant inspection for a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

A new house grant will be paid when document S.L.4 in respect of the applicant and his spouse is received by my Department. This has been requested on two occasions.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that the other conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a home improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Louth; and the reason for the delay in payment.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that all the conditions applying to the grant have been complied with.

Applicant's file has been referred to my Department's inspector for report with a view to approval of the grant.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reasons for the delay in paying a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

This application for grant was rejected in November 1982 because the floor area of the house exceeds the maximum area allowable for grant purposes (1,346 sq. ft.). The floor area of the house in question exceeds the statutory limit by 153 sq. ft.

633.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to pay a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The file in this case is with my Department's inspector for investigation and report with a view to payment of the grant.
