Vol. 342 No. 1

Written Answers. - Kerry Labour Court Case.

652.

asked the Minister for Labour the reason for the long delay in having a Labour Court tribunal hearing on the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; and if he will arrange to have this case heard as a matter of extreme urgency.

The person concerned has submitted appeals to the Employment Appeals Tribunal under the Unfair Dismissals Act, 1977 and the Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 to 1979. The hearing of the appeals has been delayed because of a very substantial increase in the number of appeals submitted to the tribunal.

The tribunal will, however, be sitting in the Killarney area early in June and the cases will be heard then. The exact date has yet to be arranged but the claimant will be notified in advance of the date of hearing.
