asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a firm (details supplied) in County Meath as they have been waiting for installation for some time.

It is expected that service will be provided within about three months.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone will be installed for a person (details supplied) in County Meath who is an old age pensioner, living with his sister, who is also receiving an old age pension.

It has not been possible to trace an application on behalf of the person named. If the Deputy can furnish additional information about the application, e.g. when and where the application was made, further efforts will be made to trace it.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will provide a telephone kiosk at Drumkeen, Ballybofey, County Donegal.

The provision of an additional kiosk at Drumkeen is not considered warranted at present. Additional kiosks are provided only in places where the present service provided is not sufficient to cope with the use made of it. It is considered that the facilities provided in Drumkeen are sufficient at present.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone kiosk will be provided at Eldergrove, Trim, County Meath.

It is planned to provide a kiosk at Eldergrove, Trim, as soon as possible after the necessary consents to a suitable site have been received.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone kiosk will be provided at Ballinlough, Kells, County Meath.

It had been planned to provide a Kiosk at Ballinlough, Kells. However, the programme for the provision of rural kiosks is under review at present in the light of the financial position generally and it is not possible at this stage to say when a kiosk may be provided at the location in question.

Telephone service was offered to the person named but the offer was not accepted.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when automatic dialling will be introduced for subscribers at Holycross, County Tipperary.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when automatic dialling will be introduced for subscribers at Boherlahan, County Tipperary.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when automatic dialling will be made available for subscribers at Ballinure, County Tipperary.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 587 to 589, inclusive, together.

It is expected that automatic dialling will be made available as follows: Ballinure, about the end of this month; Boherlahan, in September next; Holycross, in October next.

It is expected that service will be provided within about a year for the person named.

It is expected that service will be provided within about a year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Offaly as he has been waiting for it for a considerable period.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin as service was promised by his Department before this date.

Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work will be completed before the latter part of this year.

It had been expected that service would be provided earlier. Regrettably this was not possible because of the need to divert staff to other urgent work.
