asked the Minister for Finance the amounts of profits before deductions for capital allowances etc. charged to corporation tax in respect of the following sources for 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982 and the estimated income for 1983: (1) construction industry; (2) property tansactions; (3) rental income; (4) manufacturing profits; (5) farming profits; (6) banking institutions; (7) financial institutions liable at the special low rate of corporation tax (35 per cent) and (8) other profits; and the amount of income applicable to close companies in each of the above headings.

Statistics are not available which would enable the information requested by the Deputy to be given. To obtain the information sought would require an individual examination of all corporation tax returns for the years in question and such an examination could only be carried out at a disproportionate cost.
