The amount expended in 1982 by my Department on press advertising in newspapers and magazines published in this country was £44,457.67.
It would be necessary to identify and analyse a large number of payment schedules in order to ascertain the amount expended with each newspaper and periodical. It is considered that the amount of official time required for such an exercise would not be warranted.
Similar information for agencies directly controlled or funded by my Department is not available within my Department.
