Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

649.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a reconstruction grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

This grant has been paid.

650.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in County Meath, who applied for a house improvement grant, has not been approved for this grant.

A grant cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, ten years have not elapsed since a previous grant was paid in respect of the relevant house.

651.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a new house grant was ever paid to any person and, if so, to whom in respect of a house (details supplied) in Dublin 5.

A new house grant of £325 was paid in two instalments, £160 on 9 December 1976 and £165 on the 2 June 1978, to the builder named in respect of this house.

652.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a house improvement grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary; and when it will be paid.

A grant cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. The applicant has been so informed.

653.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The application for a grant was rejected in this case because the applicants indicated on the application form that they did not comply with a condition of the scheme, that is, they were in occupation of the house more than one year prior to receipt of application in the Department. However, certain further information relating to the completion of the house has recently been sought.
