Yes. Certain limited quantities of copper tubes from Spain were in transit when the Restriction of Imports (Copper Tubes from Spain) Order, 1983, was made and notified. As is the usual practice licences were issued for these. As I informed the Deputy in reply to a question on 15 June 1983, the purpose of the order is to keep imports of copper tubes from Spain within acceptable limits taking into account the interests of Irish industry and the requirements of the market. Accordingly the issue of licences for the importation of the copper tubes in question has now been completely suspended.
