A grant in respect of the carrying out of necessary repairs to the basic fabric of the house cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the work had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. Neither can a grant in respect of the building of a chimney be allowed as there was an existing chimney in the house. The applicant has been so informed.
