I am committed to the publication of a youth service grant scheme with clear grant-aid criteria following full consultations with youth organisations.
Proposals submitted by the National Youth Council of Ireland have now been modified following discussions with the Council and these are being circulated by my Department to individual organisations for their observations.
A total of £1,334,150 has been allocated to 27 organisations to support their youth programmes in 1983.
There is one further application pending. A decision will be made on this shortly.
