Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and the date on which it will be paid.

A new house grant cannot be paid until an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and all other conditions applying to the scheme have been complied with. The file is with the inspector for investigation and report.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The information which it is presumed the Deputy requires regarding the Bullaun group water scheme, County Galway is as follows:

(i) Date of application, 31 May 1974; number of grant aided houses, 59.

(ii) The certificate of approval provisionally allocating grants, as follows, issued to the group on 15 July 1983: 59 domestic water supply grants at £584, £34,456; 52 potential farm water supply grants at £400, £20,800. Total, £55,256.

(iii) A payment of £31,010 is in course of issue to the group and is expected to be lodged to their account within the next ten days.

(iv) When this payment issues the group will be asked to complete form g.w. 65 (plumbing list). On receipt of this completed form the question of further payments on foot of the grants allocated will be considered.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The information which it is presumed the Deputy requires regarding the Milltown North East group water scheme, County Galway is as follows:

(i) Date of application, August 1977; Number of grant-aided houses in scheme, 155.

(ii) The certificate of approval provisionally allocating State grants, as follows, issued on 23 December 1982 — 136 domestic water supply grants at £600, £81,600; 116 potential farm water supply grants at £400, £46,400. Total, £128,000.

Amount of revised grant allocation which issued on 21 June 1983, £139,400 — 155 domestic water supply grants at £600, £93,000; 116 potential farm water supply grants at £400, £46,400.

(iii) Payments were made to the group as follows: 13 April 1983, £12,800; 20 May 1983, £19,200; 7 July 1983, £20,500; 15 September 1983, £35,000 — Total value of grants paid to date, £87,500.

(iv) Value of grants outstanding, £51,900.

(v) The issue of further payments on foot of the grants allocated will be considered as soon as the report of the Department's inspector regarding progress on the scheme comes to hand.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a new house mortgage subsidy has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

A claim for a £750 instalment of the mortgage subsidy was received on 14 September 1983. Payment of this instalment will be made shortly.
