asked the Minister for Finance if he will state arising from his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 718 of 17 May 1983 (1) the total amount refunded by the official liquidator to both the Exchequer and the Central Bank from the liquidation of the Irish Trust Bank Ltd, during September 1983 and (2) the total amount still due to both of repayments made to the depositors of the Bank (in liquidation).

The information sought by the Deputy is as follows:

(1) No refunds were made by the official liquidator of the Irish Trust Bank Limited (in liquidation) to the Exchequer or the Central Bank during September 1983. The total amount refunded by the official liquidator up to 30 September 1983 was: to the Exchequer, £247,876; to the Central Bank, £973,855.

(2) The total amount still due arising out of repayments made to depositors of Irish Trust Bank Limited (in liquidation) is: to the Exchequer; £1,588,253; to the Central Bank, NIL.
