asked the Minister for Industry and Energy the plans the IDA and his Department have for the provision of employment in Killarney, County Kerry where there is an unacceptably high level of youth unemployment.

The Industrial Development Authority are actively promoting Killarney as a suitable location for manufacturing industry. This includes the promotion of two advance factory units of 26,000 sq. ft. and two small factory units of 3,000 sq. ft. available for small industry projects. The IDA also have a 13-acre site available in the town for industrial development.

This year the IDA completed the construction of a 25,000 sq. ft. factory for Killarney Electronics. The IDA are in close contact with the company and will make every effort to secure the start-up of the project at the earliest possible date.

asked the Minister for Labour the number of (a) men and (b) women seeking employment at present through the National Manpower office in Killarney, County Kerry.

There were 1,330 men and 614 women registered as job-seekers with the National Manpower Service in Killarney on 28 October, 1983.
