Limerick East): As I have previously stated in the House in response to questions about Garda investigations, it is not the practice for Ministers for Justice to disclose publicly whether individual cases are or are not under investigation by the Garda. If a complaint alleging a criminal offence is made to the Garda Síochána, it is open to the complainant or any other person who is aware of the complaint and has a bona fide interest to write to the Garda Síochána and ask for information privately and it may be taken that any information that can properly be supplied will be supplied.
