In 1983, road grants totalling £5.696 million were allocated to Donegal County Council, of which £1.666 million was for improvement and maintenance works on regional roads and for improvement works on county roads. There are no other funds at my disposal at present from which additional grants could be provided. The planning, financing and execution of programmes of maintenance works on county roads is entirely a matter for the council.
