I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that reviews of the taxpayer's liabilities for the four years 1979-80 to 1982-83, inclusive, have been made by the inspector of taxes. An overpayment arose and a cheque in settlement will be issued at an early date.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that a certificate of tax-free allowances for the current year, 1983-84, was issued to the taxpayer on 4 November 1983. It is understood that the certificate will be put into operation by the employer on 17 November and any tax over-deducted from his earnings in the current year will then be refunded to the taxpayer.
The delay in issuing the certificate is regretted.
