Vol. 345 No. 11

Written Answers. - Residential Property Tax.

378.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason the return forms for residential property tax were sent to people who were living in local authority houses; and the basis on which his Department sent out these forms.

Return forms for residential property tax were sent to people who were shown in local authority records as the occupiers of houses with a rateable valuation of £30 or more, and to people whose projected gross income for the year ended 5 April, 1983, was £20,000 or more. The latter category could have included people living in local authority houses who had no other residential property.
