Vol. 345 No. 12

Written Answers. - Drainage of Ulster Rivers.

32.

Mr. Leonard

asked the Minister for Finance when work will commence on the drainage of the Ulster Blackwater river.

A drainage scheme for the Blackwater catchment has been prepared and proposals for exhibition of the scheme, in accordance with sections 5 and 6 of the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, are under consideration in the Department of Finance. Pending completion of the various procedures prescribed by the Act, it is not possible to say when works might commence.

33.

Mr. Leonard

asked the Minister for Finance when work will commence on the drainage of the Finn/Lackey river.

The preparation of a design for a drainage scheme for the Finn/Lackey catchment is well advanced. At this stage I cannot say when works might commence.
