Vol. 346 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

259.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The grant was paid on 10 November 1983.

260.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a a new house grant and a mortgage interest subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

A new house grant and a mortgage subsidy cannot be paid to the person named because the house as built exceeds the maximum floor area allowable for grant purposes i.e., 125 sq. metres (1,346 sq. ft.) and the ceiling heights on the first floor do not comply with grant specifications.

261.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have a £1,000 new house grant and an instalment of a mortgage subsidy paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the house was inspected and passed on 27 October 1983.

The grant will be paid as soon as possible. There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a mortgage subsidy from the person named.

262.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a £1,000 new house grant was refused to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and if the grant would be approved if alterations were carried out to the satisfaction of the Department.

A £1,000 new house grant was refused in this case, as the floor area of the house exceeds the statutory limit of 125m² (1,346 sq. ft.). However, if the person named submits his proposals to reduce the floor area, further consideration will be given to his application.
