An application under the western drainage scheme was received from the person mentioned on 5 July 1982. The number of applications so far received under the scheme is more than can be catered for within the 150,000 hectares ceiling set by the relevant EEC directive and it may not, therefore, be possible to accommodate applications received after 30 September 1981, including that of the person mentioned, under the present scheme.
An application received for the same work under the land improvement section of the programme for western development cannot be dealt with as the work involved is not appropriate to the programme.
