I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer submitted a claim to repayment of tax on the grounds of unemployment to the inspector of taxes on 4 November 1983. Additional information to enable the claim to be processed was sought by the inspector and this was supplied on 15 November. A cheque in settlement of the refund due was issued to the taxpayer on 2 December 1983.
