The operation of the Housing Finance Agency loan scheme is a matter for the agency itself which has full responsibility, within the overall capital allocation approved by the Government, for providing funds to individual local authorities to pay loans. In response to the demand for payments, the agency's capital allocation for 1983 was recently increased from £50 million to £55 million which should enable the Agency to issue loan cheques without undue delay.
