asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the names of those persons (a) not reappointed and (b) dismissed by the Government from State and semi-State boards under the aegis of his Department since February 1983.

Appointments to the Advisory Council on Development Co-operation are made by me in my capacity as Minister for Foreign Affairs. The following were not re-appointed to the council following the expiry of the council's first term of office in December 1982 and the appointment of the new council in February of this year.

Mr. J. Byrne, Mr. P. Cleary, Mr. R. Cleary, Mrs. C. Hannon, Mr. M. Lynch, Mr. C. McCabe, Mr. J. McCabe, Rev. Fr. J. O'Brien, Mr. D. O'Donovan, Mr. M. O'Halloran, Dr. D. O'Sullivan, Mr. H. O'Sullivan, Mr. S. Ryan, Mrs. O. Scott.

Appointments to the Advisory Committee for Cultural Relations are also made by me in my capacity as Minister for Foreign Affairs. The following were not re-appointed to the Cultural Relations Committee following the expiry of the previous committee's term of office in December 1982 and the appointment of the new committee in February 1983.

Mr. Patrick Hickey, Professor Anthony Hughes, Mr. John Ruddock, Dr. Michael Scott, Dr. Olive Smith, Mr. Aidan Walsh.

The members of the council of the Agency for Personal Service Overseas (APSO) are nominated by me in my capacity as Minister for Foreign Affairs and appointed by the council. The agency's Articles of Association stipulate that six members of the council shall retire each year in rotation and may not be re-appointed until at least one year has elapsed. One member of the council resigned in 1983 and in accordance with the Articles of Association, the following members of the council who retired in 1983 were not renominated.
