I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that it was necessary to carry out a review of the taxpayer's liability for the year 1982-83 on two occasions recently following receipt of certain additional information which he submitted to the inspector of taxes. Cheques in settlement of the resulting overpayments were issued to the taxpayer on 9 and 15 November 1983, respectively.

I understand that the taxpayer's liability for the year 1982-83 has been reviewed by the inspector of taxes and that a cheque in settlement of the refund due will be issued at an early date.

The Revenue Commissioners have informed me that a review of the taxpayer's liability for the year 1982-83 has been carried out by the inspector of taxes resulting in an overpayment of tax. A cheque in settlement should reach the taxpayer shortly.
