I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that two claims for refunds of tax in respect of the current year have been received from the taxpayer in this case. A cheque in settlement of the first claim was issued on 28 November. 1983, and payment in respect of the second claim will be made at an early date.
The inspector of taxes has also reviewed the liabilities for the years 1981-82 and 1982-83 and overpayments have arisen. The amounts overpaid should reach the taxpayer shortly.
