The drafting of a scheme of a Bill to amend and consolidate the Industrial and Provident Societies Acts, 1893 to 1978 is at an advanced stage of preparation in my Department. Because of the complexity of the proposed measure, it would be difficult to indicate with accuracy when the proposed Bill will be introduced. I do not expect, however, to be in a position to do so before mid-1984.
