Vol. 346 No. 10

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

306.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will ensure that priority is given to repairing the telephones of the medical profession.

Priority is given to repairing telephones of all practising doctors during normal working hours. Attention to faults outside normal working hours is confined to consultants on call and key medical personnel in major hospitals. Such priority may also be afforded to the telephone number on call in areas where a panel of doctors exists to provide a 24 hour "on call" service. Exceptionally, special maintenance attention is given on an occasional basis where humanitarian or exceptional circumstances apply.

Details of the addresses of area telecommunications sales offices to which all requests for priority maintenance attention should be addressed are set out in the preface to the appropriate part of the telephone directory.

307.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when it is intended to erect a telephone kiosk in an area (details supplied) in County Donegal.

Ballinacarrick is not included in this year's programme. Its merits will be considered in due course when the 1984 programme is being drawn up.
