No provision for repairs to courthouses in County Meath was made in (a) the estimates for 1983, (b) the out-turn for 1983 and (c) the estimate for 1984 under subhead F5 of the Vote for Public Works and Buildings. Provision under that subhead relates solely to the renovation of Waterford Courthouse.
Responsibility for repairs to courthouses lies with the local authority. The case of Waterford Courthouse was an exceptional one and the cost of the work carried out by the Office of Public Works is being recouped from Waterford Corporation.
