Vol. 347 No. 6

Written Answers. - Tax Refunds.

236.

asked the Minister for Finance when a tax refund will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork as he has been waiting a considerable length of time.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the refund relates to the current year and would, therefore, fall to be made by the employer. The taxpayer changed employment recently and particulars of allowances and previous pay and tax have now been made available to the new employer. These particulars will be taken into account on the next payday and any tax overdeducted since 6 April last will be refunded by the employer.

asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer's file is in transit between tax offices as a consequence of his recent change of employment. The Commissioners regret that they are unable to report on the case but they will ensure that any refund due to the taxpayer will be speedily processed when the file comes to hand.
