Vol. 347 No. 6

Written Answers. - Dunkellin River Drainage.

239.

asked the Minister for Finance the number of people involved in surveys and studies on the drainage of the Dunkellin river; and if the lay-off of workers has affected the preliminary work on this drainage.

As indicated in my reply to the question put down by the Deputy on the 6 December 1983, the Commissioners of Public Works have no function in the staffing involved in the specialist studies, commissioned in connection with the preparation of a drainage scheme for the Dunkellin catchment. The main engineering surveys of the catchment have been completed and no further survey work is required or being undertaken at this stage. The present lay-off of workers on other drainage schemes has no effect on the Dunkellin scheme proposals.
