The final census results, which will be available later this year, will contain greater detail by industry in which employed. However, information on the numbers employed in State and semi-State bodies will not be available separately.
With regard to school-going children, the Department of Education conducts an annual census of enrolments and in September 1983 there were 16,234 children enrolled in primary schools and 7,600 in second level post primary schools in County Louth.
