Vol. 347 No. 8

Written Answers. - School Transport.

271.

asked the Minister for Education the reason the children of a person who attend a vocational school (details supplied) in County Offaly are not collected at their house even though the school bus passes their house every morning, and as it is the same bus that collects them at the pick-up point.

The route of the service allocated to the pupils in question has a pick-up at a point 0.5 mile from their homes. This is well within the standards of acceptability for post-primary school transport services. The bus used on another route passes their home but the accommodation on that vehicle is already fully allocated.
