One of the conditions for the grant of a special allowance in the case of the person referred to in the question is that he be the holder of the Service (1917-1921) Medal in respect of continuous membership of Óglaigh na hÉireann (IRA) during the period of three months which ended on 11 July 1921.
Inquiries have been made in regard to the person's entitlement to the award of the medal but to date it has not been possible to establish the membership requirement in his case. Inquiries are continuing and the matter will be brought to a conclusion as quickly as possible.
