Vol. 348 No. 5

Written Answers. - Hospital Equipment Disposal.

431.

asked the Minister for Health the arrangements that are being made for the disposal of hospital equipment from hospitals that are due to close down, in particular a hospital (details supplied); and if arrangements have not been made if he has considered making the equipment available to agencies working in the Third World countries, which would derive more benefit from it than the monetary value it might produce if auctioned.

It is proposed that all suitable equipment from the hospitals concerned will transfer to the new location of the services provided by those hospitals when they are closed.

The method of disposal of the remaining equipment has not been decided but the Deputy's proposal will be kept in mind.
