asked the Minister for Agriculture when a cattle headage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

The person named is ineligible for cattle headage grants under the 1983 disadvantaged areas schemes as the off-farm income of his spouse exceeded £3,500 for the income tax year ended 5 April 1983.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when sheep subsidy payments under the EEC lowland ewe premium scheme will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

My Department are unable to trace receipt of any application for EEC ewe premium for 1982-83 from the person named. He, however, will be paid first instalment of ewe premium for 1983-84 shortly.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reasons reactor grants have not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; the amount due; the date on which he will be paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A grant payment for £450 in respect of two reactors slaughtered on 30 September and 30 November respectively has been made to this herdowner.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reasons a grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway under the beef cow suckler scheme; the amount due; the date on which he will be paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named will be paid £348 beef cow grant under the 1983 disadvantaged areas schemes in due course when the batch which includes his payment is processed. As this payment is being made with many others there is no particular delay.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when various grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; the description and amount of each grant that will be paid; the date on which payment will be made; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named will be paid £824 beef cow grant under the 1983 disadvantaged areas schemes, £441.18 calf premium and £1,750 1983 calved heifer grant, in due course when the various batches which include these payments are processed. He will be paid his 1983 EEC suckler cow premium of £953.42 when the six months period for retention of cows specified in that scheme expires for all applicants in April 1984.

As the work in this case has been carried out without the prior written approval of the farm development service, it is not eligible for grant aid.

Payments under the calf premium scheme are now well advanced and are expected to be completed in four weeks. The person named will be paid his grant in due course when the batch which includes his payment is processed.

The restricted grants already paid to the person named are being reviewed in the light of the statement regarding additional land and any balance due will be paid shortly.

The registered owner of the herd number quoted has been paid calf premium already.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if a subsidy under the 1983 calf scheme will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny, as the application has been made for some time and approval issued since December 1983.

The person named has been paid this grant already.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason a farm modernisation grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

There is no record of an outstanding application for grant aid under the farm modernisation scheme from the person mentioned. However, grant aid in respect of an application under the programme for western development will be paid when the scheme of work is completed according to specification and the local farm development service office notified.

522.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange for immediate payment of a calf reactor grant to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

A payable order for £175 in respect of a reactor animal slaughtered on 7 October 1983 was issued to this herdowner on 24 November 1983. The pay order was not cashed at 31 January 1984. If the herdowner did not receive the pay order, he should write to my Department (Accounts Division) stating this. Arrangements will then be made to cancel the original payment and issue a fresh payment to him.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will expedite payment of a reactor cattle grant to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

A grant payment for £425 in respect of five reactors slaughtered on 7 December has been made to this herdowner.
