Vol. 348 No. 8

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

383.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a house improvement grant has been refused to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The application in this case was in respect of the building of a chimney with fireplace. A grant could not be allowed because there was an existing chimney in the house. The applicant was so informed.

384.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a new house grant has not yet been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary; and when it will be paid.

A grant cannot be paid until an inspection establishes that the house is completed and occupied and complies with all the other conditions governing the grant scheme. The file is with my Department's inspector for investigation and report with a view to payment of grant.
