Vol. 348 No. 8

Written Answers. - Donegal Town Sewerage Scheme.

387.

Mr. Coughlan

asked the Minister for the Environment the up-to-date position regarding the proposed sewerage scheme for Donegal town; when it is intended to implement the scheme; and the estimated cost of the work.

Contract documents for a proposed sewerage scheme for Donegal town have been submitted to my Department by Donegal County Council. All necessary aspects of planning for the scheme have not, however, been completed and the submission to my Department of a further report from the county council in relation to the contract documents is awaited to enable a full examination of the contract documents to take place. In the circumstances, I cannot at this stage say when I will be in a position to convey a decision on the scheme to the local authority or when work will commence or what the cost will be.
